Travel Realities

Pictures my CoTeachers sent to me
Here’s the unglamorous, undignified reality of what traveling can bring. Frankly, I’m surprised I haven’t been hit with it sooner than this point.

That’s right, I’m talking about food poisoning, and/or illness in general.

At this point in the illness (this all had to be written after the fact, once recovered), I figured it was just a fever and some cramping, no big deal! I’ll bounce back in no time. I’ve been eating pretty well, exercising regularly, getting enough(ish) sleep, right?

Goddamn, I Was Wrong

The beds here aren’t the most comfortable, as I mentioned when I first arrived. They can be helped with a mattress cover/cushion. Even that doesn’t help when you’re laying on this brick for days at a time, interspersed with painful - sometimes extended - trips to the bathroom.

Well, there goes all the writing and productivity I had planned to get through. But hey, at least I was able to download and watch a good quality of the movie “Deadpool.” Very violent, but they did keep it true to the character. If you're a fan, you've probably already seen it, but do it again!

Upside to being feverishly sick: No guilt about taking it easy.
